Although there are so many different types of guitar available today, a lot of users much prefer playing on a relic guitar. These types of guitars look like those that were built and played years ago, but they’re made using modern parts. On the whole they normally cost the same as a modern guitar, but saying that, certain custom guitars can be fairly dear. These guitars are made to look older than they are by a process known as relicing; meaning scratches, nics and blemishes are added to give it that appearance of an old guitar. They may look old and battered, but these guitars can play just as well as a modern guitar, and can last just as long as well.
There are many companies that manufacturer these retro relic guitars Fender is one of the more famous. Their relic and vintage guitar selection includes some of the top relic guitars. Bill Nash Guitars is another name that makes this kind of guitar. Bill Nash, the owner, builds the guitars himself before selling them to others. Other companies will actually take customer’s guitars and apply a relic process to them, aging the instruments until they appear to be decades old.
