Beatles Remastered Stereo CDs

The Beatles Stereo CD Box Set was released in September of ‘09 it immediately became the standard for The Beatles catalog. These remastered versions sound far superior to the old CDs from the late 80s. When comparing these new remasters to the older compact discs it’s like the older CDs are under a pile of wet towels while the new CDs sound warm and clear so that all of the vocals and instrumentation push through the mix instead of being swallowed up by whats around them.

The Beatles in Stereo Remastered CD Box Set isn’t the only box set by The Beatles that came out in September 2009 but it has been the biggest seller because it can be appreciated by the biggest set of fans. The Beatles Mono Box Set is excellent too but it appeals mostly to purists who want to listen to the original mono mixes (because that’s how most fans in the 1960s heard this music) than to the average classic rock fan. While I will agree with the “purists” that there are some songs that sound better in mono than in stereo (particularly many of the pre 1968 songs in my opinion) all things considered I think the stereo CD set does sound better.

The great thing about The Beatles Remastered Stereo Box Set is that it lets you to buy The Beatles entire 60s catalog with just one order and considering the high quality of almost all of their CDs, it makes the most sense to get al of the albums at one time rather than ordering some and going back for the rest later.

Along with the awesome music included in this set there are some groovy visual parts, the 13 mini documentary (for each studio album) DVD is the most obvious. Along with the documentary DVD there are also extended liner notes for each CD (there is some good info in there, particularly for fans that are new to The Beatles) and some great previously unpublished photos.

I am such a huge fan of The Beatles that I’ve got (or I plan on ordering) The Beatles in Stereo Box Set, The Beatles in Mono Box Set, The Beatles USB, and The Beatles Rock Band Game. But if I had to pick only one of these items, it would be the stereo set because it is the best way to hear their music and of course, it’s the groundbreaking music that made them the most legendary band of all time.
